We need real-time translation at the Musicacoustica papers session in
October.
I have not been successful in finding corporate sponsorship thus far. (01)
The book and the upcoming conference are a concerted attempt to
'provoke'
Chinese discourse/discussion in an emerging electronic music (digital
media) field. (02)
To bring 30 or more international guests (including Prof Roads) to
China to talk
about translation, terminology, glossary, and general language issues
related to
computer music without a full Chinese involvement is a totally missed
opportunity.
They don't need to come all the way to China to discuss this amongst
themselves. I am
slightly embarrassed by it. Does anyone else feel this way? I live
and work in China;
it's my community too. I'm on the board of EMAC - I think. There is
no discourse to
speak of in EMAC that reaches the international community. (03)
I am proposing that the publisher, Mr. Du Xiaoshi consider trying to
help us
in the real-time translation of this conference. I think the
publishing company
has a stake in making more initial investment to generate a market.
Other
computer music/media books will arise. Markets needs to be created.
Mr. Du, could you reply to this? (04)
Any other ideas to try to find a sponsor for the real-time translation? (05)
Would anyone on this list be there to help in some of the translation
for
workshops or lectures. I realize that real-time translation is a special
talent. (06)
Any comments? (07)
