Subject: Handmade Electronic Music -- call for submissions
Dear Friend of Hardware Hacking,
I am preparing an updated and expanded edition of my 2006 book, Handmade Electronic Music – The Art Of Hardware Hacking. This new version will include a DVD containing short video clips demonstrating the construction process for many of the projects in the book, as well as the musical examples from the CD included in the first edition of the book. In addition, I want to include on the DVD a “gallery” of photos, videos, and sounds of hacking projects from around the world.
You were involved in the production of one of my Hacking Workshops. I was hoping to enlist your help in collecting this new material. I don’t know if you still have any records from the event, but if you have a list of participants I would be very grateful if you could pass on my request for submissions, which I have embedded at the end of this email, and attached as a text file. Alternatively, you could distribute it on your general mailing list if you felt there were members of your community who might be interested in contributing, whether they took the workshop or not.
I need to have all material in hand by mid-July of this year (i.e., next month). The tight production schedule is my excuse for this somewhat impersonal email – my apologies.
Many thanks for your help,
Nic Collins
Handmade Electronic Music – request for submissions
I am preparing an updated and expanded edition of my 2006 book, Handmade Electronic Music – The Art Of Hardware Hacking. Do you have documentation of any of your Hacked or Bent instruments that you might like to submit for possible inclusion on the DVD? This could take the form of a digital photograph, a short video clip (< 1 minute), a “slide show” series of still images accompanied by a short sound file (< 1 minute), a schematic of a circuit design, etc.
If you are interested please contact me by email and I will send you further information on formatting and submitting the files. I need to have all material in hand by mid-July of this year (i.e., next month).
Thank you.
